When one of the most stylish developments in Qatar called for nearly 2,000m of copper piping ASAP, they chose UK manufacturer and distributor Lawton Tubes to deliver what they needed on time.
The Pearl in Qatar is one of the country’s biggest and most spectacular tourist attractions, drawing over 2m visitors to the region each year.
Situated in the prestigious West Bay District of Doha, this incredible manmade island – dubbed the ‘Arabian Riviera’ – is a true feat of engineering, offering stylish accommodation, designer boutiques, and luxury dining experiences, surrounded by fabulous, landscaped gardens and a stunning Mediterranean-style marina.
One of the latest projects to grace The Pearl is the Giardino Mall, an ambitious new build incorporating three floors of exclusive shops, a marina workshop, beautiful gardens, and nearly 2,000m of copper tube courtesy of UK manufacturer and distributor Lawton Tubes.
“Copper tube is high-quality and versatile, as well as being 100% recyclable. It’s a great product to be used on all water, gas, and sanitary applications; in this case it was used in the water system for the mall,” says Lawton Tubes’ Medical and International Sales Manager, David Reberio.
The project, which is being run by United Development Company (QPSC), covers a total of area of 13,400m square metres, with the building occupying around 8,400 square metres.
One of the challenges the project faced was meeting its tight completion deadline in time for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“We had to guarantee our copper tube supply would be met in time for the customer to complete work prior to the World Cup,” David explains. “This was no problem for Lawton as we carry the product ex stock to meet with all our customer requirements. Our USP is that from receipt of PO, shipping is within two weeks, and delivery to customer is within six weeks, which gives us the edge in the market.”
Needless to say, with these impressive turnaround times, Lawton Tubes was able to deliver on its copper tube promise to QPSC. Now, there’s a brand-new gem for visitors to enjoy on the Arabian Riviera.
